There will be a number of St David’s Day celebrations going on around the Caerphilly County Borough on Saturday 1st March at the following locations:
- Bargoed – Hanbury Square
- Blackwood – The Dragon Circle (next to Asda)
- Caerphilly – The Twyn Community Centre
- Risca – Tredegar Park
Bargoed, Blackwood, Caerphilly and Risca will all be host to a wonderfully welsh celebration of our heritage as we are joined by a fantastic selection of local choirs and brass bands and treated to delightful performances from local dance and music groups. There will also be stilt walkers and face painting thrown into the mix at each town centre, creating some great free family fun for both residents and visitors alike to enjoy.
The celebrations in Risca will also coincide with a medal presentation awards ceremony and parade for the 203 (Welsh) Field Hospital who will be returning from a tour of duty in Afghanistan as part of Operation HERRICK.
Each concert will come to a finale with a sing-along to the Welsh National Anthem, so why not put on your favourite welsh shirt or dress as a traditional welsh lady and join us for the celebrations.
