This year, Bargoed will host a fully Welsh language Christmas celebration as St Gwladys’ partner with Menter Caerffili to host their Gwasanaeth Carolau.
Part of St Gwladys’ Christmas programme, the service on Monday 19th December at 7pm will be followed by a chance to socialise over festive treats including mince pies and mulled wine.
Bethan Jones, Menter Caerffili, commented:
“Mae noson carolau Menter Caerffili yn gyfle i gymuned Sir Caerffili ddod at ei gilydd i ddathlu’r Nadolig drwy’r iaith Gymraeg. Mae’n wasanaeth i’r gymuned gan aelodau o’r gymuned Cymraeg yn y Sir, fe fydd darlleniadau a pherfformiadau gan unigolion a bydd carolau i’r gynulleidfa ymuno. Mae’r noson hefyd yn gyfle gwych i ddysgwyr dod at ei gilydd gyda siaradwyr rhugl i ddathlu. Wedi’r gwasanaeth bydd diod a mins pei ar gael. Mae’r gwasanaeth yn agored i bawb ymuno.”
The Menter Caerffili carol service is an opportunity for the Caerphilly county community to join together to celebrate Christmas through the Welsh language. It is a service for the community led by the Welsh speaking community and there will be readings and performances by individuals and carols for the everyone to join in. The evening is a fantastic opportunity for Welsh speaking learners to join with fluent speakers to celebrate. Afterwards there will be a drink and mince pies. The service is open for anybody to come along.
