Join Sleep Out and raise money to change the lives of homeless young people in Wales Imagine having no one to rely on, no one to trust. Imagine facing homelessness with no one to help and support you. Can you begin to imagine where you would go, what you would do? For thousands of young people in Wales, it’s something they don’t have to imagine. It’s the stark reality they face. Here’s Leah’s story: I’d had a pretty rough childhood. My father was in and out of prison and my mother became addicted to drugs soon after I was born. As a result, I was taken into care before I was a year old. I moved from placement to placement, never really settling in, never really trusting anyone or feeling like I belonged anywhere. My mum committed suicide just a few days before I was 17 and I couldn’t cope. I couldn’t stand the latest family I was with and I didn’t know where I was going. I came to Llamau broken and angry.  Sandra, my support worker, listened to me and dealt with my behaviour as I struggled to deal with my mum’s death. She was the first person that actually heard what I had to say. She helped me grieve for my mother. I’ve just moved out of the Llamau project after two years, and I’m a different person. Tony Hadley features in Big Weekend of LIVE music at Caerphilly Castle September 18th Big names OCEAN COLOUR SCENE (sold out) and TONY HADLEY make up a great weekend of music at Caerphilly Castle on the weekend of Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th September. The event will be staged by Wales’ largest independent music promoter, Orchard Entertainment in the largest castle in Wales. UPDATE: If you are coming to either see OCEAN COLOUR SCENE or TONY HADLEY we’ve added some event notes with extra details for how to get there, times and what to expect here. On Sunday September 18, Tony Hadley, front man of iconic British legends Spandau Ballet will close the weekend of concerts within the inner walls of the castle. Tony Hadley recorded 20 singles and eight hit albums with Spandau Ballet, before embarking on a solo career that produced another seven albums and more single hits. His show features songs from more recent times, in addition to pop classics like True, Gold, and Through The Barricades. On Saturday 17th September to mark the 20th anniversary of their legendary Moseley Shoals album, Ocean Colour Scene are going be celebrating in style while performing in one of Wales most spectacular castles with special guests Newport band The Hearts. Orchard’s Dave Driscoll said: It’s great to work with CADW on what is a new venue for us. We’ve staged gigs at Cardiff Castle and this summer again in Pembroke Castle, but Caerphilly Castle is iconic, and we’re excited to bring such a strong line-up to the town.
