Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Business Support Team offered a Caerphilly Business Start-up Grant to a local business owner to set up the Market Place Caffi in Blackwood.

Owner Nicholas Davies, a qualified chef, has been working in the catering industry for more than 15 years and thanks to assistance from Caerphilly Council has realised his dream of owning his own business.

The Cafe is located in the heart of the town centre within the market place shopping centre and promises to provide a warm and friendly environment for shoppers offering a wide and varied menu.

Nick Davies, said,

I am thrilled to be opening my very first business in Blackwood and I hope that my vast experience in the catering industry will stand me in good stead to serve local people great food.

Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Planning and Sustainable Development Cllr. Ken James, said,

I am pleased that Nick was able to work with the Business Support Team to assist him with setting up shop in Blackwood. We wish him all the very best for future trading.

The Business Support Team work with businesses across the county to deliver a flexible grant scheme through a partnership with UK Steel Enterprise. It is designed to help residents of the borough set up a full-time start up business, who are unable to access any other source of funding. The Caerphilly Business Start-Up Grant provides financial support to help eligible new businesses develop and grow.
