Summer has arrived in Caerphilly county borough and what better way to enjoy it than with a beach party!

Blackwood town centre will once again be turned into the county borough’s very own urban beach on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd July and there will be plenty on offer to entertain the whole family.

Visitors can enjoy the range of traditional seaside activities taking place across the whole weekend, including a children’s funfair, donkey rides and hilarious Punch and Judy shows.  A host of entertainers will be getting everyone involved in the party, including a promenade style photo booth.  There will even be a chance for children to meet some of their favourite costumed characters!

On Saturday 2nd July there will be live music organised by local young musicians (RecRock) and new for this year, on Sunday 3rd July, Blackwood Carnival will be parading through the High Street to the Market Place where there will be live music and entertainment.

There will also be exotic animals to admire and a variety of food, craft and gift stalls lining the streets on both days for visitors to peruse.
